Attention Tie Down Ropers Update - March 3/10---as per our board meeting and the Tie Down Ropers input, we will be changing the tie down rule back to 6 seconds for the below rules. This will be in effect at the March 27 rodeo in Cardston. We thank all members for there input. The following is the current rules pertaining to the Tie Down Roping. From the feedback from our members, we would like the Tie Down Ropers to send in a vote as to if they would like the ruling changed back to six (6) seconds for the following 3 rules. In the Tie Down Roping the amount of time the calves must stay tied is 2(two) seconds. This means that page 22 rule 8, 8b and 9 will read 2(two) Rule 8: Field judge will pass on the tie by timing with a stopwatch two (2) seconds from the time the roper remounts his horse and takes his first step forward. Rule 8b: If the rope is off the calf when the roper signals for time two (2) seconds starts when the roper clears the calf. Rule 9: Flagger must watch the calf, not the watch, during the two (2) second period, and will stop the watch when the calf kicks free.
Please fax the office 403-732-5676 or email your vote by Feb 10/09 --- this is for the Calf Ropers only. _______ Keep the above rules at two (2) seconds _______ Change the above rules to six (6) seconds |
